I figure since we have the forum, and since Aras put up that wonderful lesson on songwriting, I'd start things out with one of my own. This is mostly just a working progress right now, but I've started putting some music to these lyrics. I don't have a solid recording, since I'm still tweaking the lyrics, but here they are.
I said then, drivin? by slow one day
I saw a man walkin? home
Though he seemed a stranger still
I asked him why
I couldn?t help it seemed to me
He?d be walkin? there all alone
He said, ?I?m not a man to drive
To jump or run, an? all that jive.?
?I?m just a man, be walkin? here
Don?t worry bout me, don?t shed a tear?
Just walk alone there, for a bit of time
Take my shoes with you and walk this line
Walk alone, Mr. Stranger drivin? by
I said then, I climbed down to the ground
Stood there watching smiling now
I couldn?t help myself you see
I asked him, ?What could your plan be?
He said, ?I?m not a man to drive
To jump or run, an? all that jive.?
?I?m just a man, be walkin? here
Don?t worry bout me, don?t shed a tear?
Just walk alone there, for a bit of time
Take my shoes with you and walk this line
Walk alone, Mr. Stranger drivin? by
Just walk alone there, for a bit of time
Take my shoes with you and walk this line
Walk alone, Mr. Stranger drivin? by
He said, ?I?m not a man to drive
To jump or run, an? all that jive.?
?I?m just a man, be walkin? here
Don?t worry bout me, don?t shed a tear?
P.S.
Fair warning, very rarely will my songs intentionally rhyme. Normally the rhymes are few and far between, and often by accident. As well that the rhythm is often hard to find. Sorry in advance. But thanks for reading. ^_^
