Yamaha QT-1 Metronome ReviewJudging from the picture on top of its box, Yamaha QT-1 metronome this meant to resemble a flying saucer coming into land. Which it does, a lot. QT-1 is a sturdy, hand sized unit with simple controls on the bottom. On the right is the on/off switch that gives two tones - Beat 1, which is loud, and Beat 2, which is muted. Beat 1 is a reasonable copy of a traditional metronome thuck, while Beat 2 is a quieter version of the same thing.

In the centre is a dial for setting the tempo. This is graduated with the usual metronome markings - 40-60 for Largo, 60-66 for Larghetto, etc. On the right is the volume knob, which turns from silent to maximum. The red light on the top of the QT-1 continues to flash even when the unit is muted.

An excellent metronome for a teacher or anyone else who likes a traditional click sound.

Priced around £30
