Boss Dr Beat DB-12 metronome reviewThe Boss Dr Beat DB-12 is a multi-functional unit. It will operate as a metronome, a reference tuner, a timer and a stopwatch. It has six different rhythm values: crotchet, off-beat quavers, quavers, quaver triplets, swung quavers, and semi- quavers. There are 24 different beat values and combinations, including time signatures from one to nine, and odd time signatures from five (2 + 3) to 17 (9 + 8). To check the tempo of a particular piece of music, press the tap button and it will register the tempo for you. The timer can be set from one to 60 minutes, and the stopwatch even has a time elapse function (called split time).

The Boss DB-12 is designed for the musician who is dedicated to practice, and also for the theatre, film or media composer who needs to time sections of music. It is a very handy piece of kit.

Priced around £60
