I'm sort of stealing this concept from Breakfastime, hope you don't mind. But I thought it'd just be fun to get to know each other even more. Much like Breakfastime's topic, this is mostly about questioning what ya'll prefer. My question it, what sort of style do you like to play/listen too?

I personally listen to alot of Alternative Acoustic, Blues, Jazz, Rock, Folk, and Bluegrass.

I play pretty much the same thing, but I stick mostly to playing Acoustic stuff. I'm not sure what style it would be classified under, since I'm mostly doing my own stuff lately, but its Acoustic, I know that much.

Anyway, I'm really interested to know what sort of styles ya'll play. I think it'd help to make this group of musicians even more tight-knit.

I love playing blues-rock sought of things! Mostly Cream and Zeppelin influences for me, I love Clapton's woman tone! I have based my entire rig around it (excluding the ESPs... They were cheap ok!?)

I am a massive classic rock fan, so I listen to that near enough all of the time.
My music style reflects this too, although I don't mind a bit of acoustic now and again.

When I started playing guitar I would only play classic/hard rock.

Over the years though I think I've mellowed a bit as my taste in music, as well as the kind of music I play, has certainly broadened.

Right now I am concentrating more on classical than anything else but I still enjoy bashing out a good rock classic as well as other things like blues, jazz, country/finger-picking, folk, pretty much anything!!!!

I'm seeing there's alot of different styles that everyone here plays and listens too. Its really refreshing to see actually. Alot of boards I've been on have had everyone liking the exact same music and talking about the same artists over and over again.

But I'm not gonna lie, its relaxing that it seems like most everyone here likes some form of rock.

So you'll probably like us then here MakoMako! We, the GuitarTools.co.uk team have an eclectic taste in music and play most styles of music.

I have found that to play rock better, it helps to work on your technique by "mellowing out" for a while - learn some nice, clean or acoustic songs.

This will help improve your playing no end, so that when you go back to rock - you have a better playing technique. Thus, sound and rock much better!

Personally, I'm into a lot of styles of music. I enjoy jazz, blues, classic rock, and soft rock... but I think that metal, or metal-core as it's called now, is a lot more FUN for me to play on drums and guitar... I feel my options are more limitless (I know that options are already limitless on the instrument). It's the right fit for me emotionally, and musically. It feels more natural for me. You know that feeling you get when you listen to a peice of music, and you feel like your heart is dancing to it? I get that a lot more with the type of music i listen to and play... I dunno... maybe im a dork.

My style is summed up in acoustic, rock, folk, blues, and a mix of alternative. Normally just depends what Im in the mood to play, but those are the main ones.

I really think that system of a down would be classified in a Alternative Political Rock sort of thing. They do have some political songs to my knowledge.
