Okay now you may be thinking a few things right now, such as

"What in the world is Brian going to talk about?" or "Wow this is repetetive"

But I must ask!!

Now, it may sound sick, but I think it's a very relative and good question. Many of us young folks in the community get their influences from musicians who are still alive and breathing... but I think ALL of us have been influenced by someone who has left this existance.

What Artist, or Artists who are Passed on have influenced you in your playing, theory, style, angle... ?

Myself? I'd have to say I was heavily influenced by Dimebag Darrell Abbot.

His aggressive style and pinpoint prescision of guitar playing inspired me to start listening to the style of music I listen to. Where my skill-level in that genre isn't nearly the level of his... I sometimes find myself listening to his songs for inspiration, innovation, and yeah, sometimes I play along... just to memorize the rhythms... you'd be amazed at how creative you can become when you play along with your favorite artist... Gives your playing style a different dimension, while staying true to what you initially intended to play.

Andre Segovia

I think he, in some sublte way, effects everyone. He's considered the "father of guitar" by many people. I think that he does idneed effect everyone's style in some link or way.

Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and John Lennon.

Those are the big four that are deceased that have influenced me in some way.
