TOPIC: Posting Up Songs
#108
Posting Up Songs 5 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
I know there are alot of people out their that write their own music. I'm one of them. I also know that there are alot of people out there that tend to have a hard time finding ways to get it out into the world. Whether it just be money issues, looking in the wrong place, or just not being entirly internet savvy. Anyway, I'm making this topic to throw up a couple of websites that some people might want to use.

Soundclick:
This is a very popular site. I find it to also be one of the better sites as far as getting ones music out there. They have genres, and sub-genres, that allow you to really place your music where you know it belongs. They also have a charting system done up by genre and sub-genre. It provides you with your own band page, and allows the ability to see the statistics of your songs. (i.e. downloads, plays, etc.)

URL: www.soundclick.com/

Pure Volume:
This website is similar to Soundclick in that you get to post up a number of songs on your own little band page. I've not found this site nearly as helpful as Soundclick though, as it seems you have to really advertise yourself in order to get your music out into the world. Some may like this site a great deal, but I prefer Soundclick.

URL: www.purevolume.com/

MySpace:
Yes, yes. The definition of internet conformity. There are millions of people on MySpace, and there seem to be almost as many people who have a Music MySpace. This allows you to, of course have the usual things that MySpace offers, but also allows you to post up 4 of your songs at a time on your page. It also allows for you to put of dates for shows that you may be performing in. I'm not gonna say much more since everyone knows about MySpace. On the main MySpace page, just click the Music link on the main bar near the top of the page.

URL: www.myspace.com/

These are the sites that I have exclusive experience with. I currently have a Music MySpace, but its mostly used for my fellows at my Highschool who are always asking about my music. I prefer Soundclick the most of all the sites, and I also have a soundclick account, which is more my main thing. Please note that each of these websites requires an account with a valid e-mail address, but they are all also 100% free.

My pages:
www.myspace.com/stircoffee

www.soundclick.com/thewalkingmanproject

P.S.
Later I may make a topic concerning recording in the future. Mostly concerning programs you can use, as opposed to the actual recording process.

That's really neat man. I like the SoundClick site. I have a myspace and sent a "friend request" out to you.

As far as putting my material out on the net, i'm actually in the middle of arranging a couple new peices, and when i get them somewhat more organized, I plan to make a myspace music page.

Soundclick and Myspace get the music out a lot better than purevolume.

I agree completely, since PureVolume seems to be a 'do your own advertising' sort of site. I posted it, since I've got experience with it, and alot of people seem to really like it.

Also, I've managed to look at a few more sites, I signed up to maybe three or four new ones to give them a bit of a trial run. I'll be posting my reveiws on them within the next two weeks.
