Tell all of us about your personal influences... whether it be a significant life-happening, or a particular artist or group.
Mine, has to be Wes Borland, Killswitch Engage, Pantera, Early Metallica, Slipknot, Lamb of God (formerly Burn The Priest), Old School KoRn, Old Disturbed, Opeth, James Taylor, Eric Clapton, and so on and so forth.
I guess i can easily say im a musician of the nineties and new millenium.
haha however, let it be known that I am NOT a punk/nu-metal fan.. i DO have taste afterall!!

Considering I was born in 1990, I too am a nineties/millenium inspired guitarist!
I many like Razorlight, The Kooks, The Killers, The Strokes, The White Stripes, and much more!
Also, I don't want to forget all the old rock music that I grew up listening to, that also plays a strong part in what I play. Such as the old cliches - Hendrix, Clapton, Led Zep etc etc...
To be honest I love most styles of music and try to play as much as I can!

Even though most the musicians I'm a fan of, as well as influence me, are from the 90's and beyond, they all also seem to not be nearly as well known as some.
Influences: Dave Matthews, Tim Reynolds, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Cat Stevens, Andre Segovia, and whoever that guy in Blues Traveler is. ^_^
Those are mostly the people who inspire me.
P.S.
The thing that makes Dave Matthews Band so special to me is that my sister, brother, mother, and father all like them. Its one of the few things we can all connect on and just enjoy. I don't get alot of chances to spend time with my family, so I really like that.

You know honestly, I agree with you on the whole DMB thing. I don't know anone who doesnt like SOMETHING by that band. Or John Mayer for that matter. Good call. And blues Traveler rocks. I wish Vertical Horizon would come back... im sick of people doing covers of them haha.
SMP:
Jimmy Paige, and Hendrix...both are revolutionists of the instrument. Gotta love 'em.

For me, my influences come from Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Donovan, Nirvana, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many many more. I listen to a wide variety of music.
Mostly though, out of the list, Bob Dylan is my main inspiration for writing music.
