Hey! 5 Years, 12 Months ago Karma: 0

My name is Brian. I live in Denver, Colorado, USA. I am 23 years old. I play a Paul Reed Smith guitar, use a Boss multi-effect Pedal, and until my stack gets repaired, im using a crappy 30-watt peavy amp haha. I also have an Ibanez RG. I typically stay tuned in Dropped-C. I play mostly Metalcore/Heavy Metal/Hardcore, but am also prone to enjoying picking up my alvarez acoustic and laying down some acoustic Clapton. I enjoy any music from Jazz to hardcore metal. Want to know anything else about me, let me know!

For now i've settled for the SE Standard Vintage Cherry w/ Tremolo. It's not the BEST PRS, but so far it plays better than any other guitar i've owned. I love it.

I have a few digitech pedals too. I have the digidelay, which is my favorite of my standalone pedals. I love my BOSS ME-50 though. It's really really nice.

I have a CRATE 100W 1/2 Stack for my primary amp. and as i mentioned before, a crappy 30w Peavy.

I also have a black Ibanez RG, and an RG-7. I dont really use those anymore. One, is my first guitar, and has been to hell and back, and is probably beyond proper resotration, and the other I dont play anymore, because i'm hooked on the PRS lol.

I have two acoustics. One is a classical guitar, and one is an old Alvarez.

What kind of music do you play?

Hey Barnum, I noted that you played some Clapton, which isn't always a cakewalk. I'd be interested in hearing some of your acoustic work if you ever got a chance to put it up somewhere. I'm not too big a fan of metal, but then again, hearing some metal songs done on an acoustic guitar can be a trip.

Either way, I'd love to hear some of your acoustic work.

At the moment I am playing mostly classical but when I get the chance I like to kick back and play classic/hard rock on the PRS.

Mako:

Sure. I'll see what I can do to record a track or something and post it somewhere. I'd have to honestly say that my favorite acoustic clapton song.. is "tears in heaven". It's just one of those songs that touches you when you play it. I'll keep you posted as to when and if I can post a track.

haha and you aren't kidding about the Metal being done acoustic. It's a trip alright. I was listening to the radio (a rarity in itself) the other day, and i heard some acoustic song, and didnt really lend my ear to it... but then i noticed this very specific riff... and noticed it was KoRn... ACOUSTIC... i nearly drove off the road with laughter.

You know, a lot of things I've written, I start out acoustic... and then walk over to my PRS and plug in and play that distorted, or maybe slightly distorted with some echo effects... I think that the acoustic guitar is most definitely the root of rock. But i just think it's strangely odd when you hear some chunky power chord being rocked out on a Takamine hahaha.

I dont know why, but lately, i'll just be sitting around watching TV or something and I just find myself playing around with the simple blues scales.. funny how something so simple, can be so entertaining and soothing.

Cool isn't it?

Just finding something to noodle away on and see where it takes you.

All good stuff.
