Hi everyone,

My name is Jonathan and I am the proud owner of an electric guitar since December 2007.

I am new to playing and I am very much an amateur, but I am loving every minute of it and hopefully one day I will be good.

So far I have learnt 7 chords and quite a lot of fingering in the first 3 fret positions.

My main problem at the moment is in changing between chords quickly enough.

I keep pushing myself by trying some TABs of new tunes. The same for new chords.

I hope to chat with you sometime soon, but I travel constantly so getting time to practice and to get online is very difficult at the moment.

I live in Lincolnshire, UK but currently I am working in Helsinki.

Hi Jonathan, I 'm also a newbie here. Like you I work away from the UK but am planning to improve my guitar playing while away with some help from this site and others. I have two strats & a hoffman travel guitar.
A bit sad people don't reply to newbies, anyway let's hope we both learn while here.

Thanks for your contact, I wasn't really expecting much of a reply I was just introducing myself to the site.

Probably just like you, I have been trawling the web to find some good guitar-related sites so that is how I found this site.

BTW, I have an Epihone electric guitar, model LPJREB, not that the model matters much, it is a black one and I love it !

I am still trying to get to grips with chord changes and I have just purchased a book about Rock guitar picking - but I think it is too advanced for me so I probably should try an introduction to picking first. Anyway, I am keen at least.
