Epiphone Les Paul Standard - 2006/06/27 01:49 Epiphone Les Paul Standard

Originally made in the early 1950's Les Paul guitars have always remained a contender in top of the line quality guitars. And the Standard is nothing short of that.

Price: $350-$500 from www.musiciansfriend.com, www.ebay.com, www.music123.com, and www.wwbw.com. All have the same price range. The average price for the best quality that I would recommend would be one for $400 max.

Features:(9/10) It comes with all the standard and required stuff needed. Plus extra.
Mahogany/alder body
Carved maple top
Rosewood fingerboard
Chrome-covered humbuckers
Cream body and fretboard binding
Chrome hardware
Slick look

Sound:(9/10) Sounds and plays great. No problems here. You really get a great feel for the guitar, especially with its sound.

Quality:(8/10) Standard made guitar. Gets the normal wears and tears with prolonged use after
a few years. Seems to get scratches and dents easier than other guitars.

Reliability:(8/10) Sounds and works great after many times of use in gigs and practices.
Just the wearing and tearing that deminish this fine product.

Overall:(9/10) Phenomenal guitar, especially for the more advanced journeyman guitarist. You can get all of your tones humming with this guitar.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.
